EDC supported a co-design workshop on eco-efficiency and eco-effectiveness held in The Hub, London on the 1st of May 2009.
The workshop was the first of a series of workshops called “Co-design4… Workshops” run by leading ecodesign consultant and writer Alastair Fuad-Luke. The series of inter-connected workshops harness the power of design philosophy, thinking and processes to explore diverse sustainability challenges and encourage socio-eco innovation to help design new products and services.
The theme of this workshop was eco-efficiency and eco-effectiveness. It involved an exploration on the role of design in improving the environmental performance of products and services.
The workshop was attended by a diverse group of designers, entrepreneurs and design writers. EDC made a presentation reflecting how ecodesign and eco-efficiency can be incorporated into the design and business strategies of SMEs. The presentation included a case study on the award winning Orangebox ARA chair.
